A Bilingual Case Study
Background
Alamo WorkSource is an organization that brings
businesses and job seekers together. It serves
businesses as a Human Resources Department to recruit,
screen and refer qualified employees. It serves job
seekers by posting positions on its Web site and helping
people with their resumes and with interviewing skills
at their centers.
Obstacles
Because this organization serves a population whose
majority is Hispanic and bilingual, one challenge was to
develop a Web site that would be useful to both English-
and Spanish-speaking residents of Bexar County.
Solution
Web Head Group developed the Alamo WorkSource’s Web site
in a manner that is accessible in both English and
Spanish. While the Web site pops up in English, there is
a button people can click to access the entire Web site
in Spanish.
