Launching a Business on the Internet Case Study
Background
An entrepreneur wanted to start a Web site to provide
information, support and the opportunity to share
experiences for people with mental health disorders.
Obstacles
The client wanted a custom-built Web portal designed to meet a wide variety
of sales, marketing, and channel management
requirements, online discussion groups, online journals,
and the management of vendor and partner relationships
in a timely fashion.
Solution
The entrepreneur and Web Head Group joined forces to
develop the Web site. In a little over a year, solely by
word of mouth, it became the largest consumer mental
health site on the Internet. HealthyPlace.com has
over one million unique visitors a month; page views run
about 7 to 10 per visitor session; and the average
session time is 17 to 25 minutes. With statistics like
this, it became easy for the entrepreneur to find
sponsors who provide medications, treatment programs and
insurance to help people, or their loved ones, with
mental disorders.
Web Head Group designed this award-winning Web site to
meet sales, marketing, channel management requirements,
online discussion groups, online journals and the
management of vendor and sponsor relationships.
